I am the PI of the ABC Neuro Lab, which houses near-infrared spectroscopy brain imaging equipment (fNIRS, Artinis), Tobii Glasses, a high-resolution eye tracker (Tobii Spectrum, 1200 Hz), and a TMS machine, acquired through a JELF-CFI grant in 2019 (C. Gonzalez as PI). Students learn a wide variety of techniques that are not only used for research purposes but are also becoming mainstream for clinical (e.g., aiding assessments and diagnosis) and industrial (e.g., neuromarketing) purposes. More recently, our lab has moved toward designing intervention studies that explore the effects of rTMS and iTBS on cognitive aging. In addition, students gain experience with cognitive testing, including standardized cognitive assessments used in healthcare settings, such as the MoCA, RBANS, and CVLT. Students often implement these measures in their own research projects.
